My Tribe

The past couple of days have been a little difficult. I had a situation on Instagram that happened and I needed help with it. My husband and my sister are wise people. I go to them often when I need some advice.

This situation was quite difficult because I was dealing with someone who had been a great supporter on my Instagram page.

I talked with my husband and my sister about the situation. I also told them that I always mention in my giveaways that you must be 18 or older to enter the giveaway. However, this was something that the person failed to read in the rules.

My husband and sister both said not to send the giveaway gift to her. They both suggested that I figure out a different way to do giveaways.

I contacted the girl and explained why she was disqualified from the giveaway. Unfortunately that conversation didn’t go well. She decided to remove herself from my page and remove me from hers.

Obviously I didn’t want to end things on a bad note but that message wasn’t well received. I seriously felt terrible that I had to say no you weren’t going to receive the giveaway gift because of the rules in the giveaway were not being followed.

I fully agreed with my husband and sister when they suggested on finding a new way to do giveaways. It wasn’t easy having to follow my own rules that I laid out for my supporters/followers during the giveaway. Even though someone had ignored this rule, I felt bad for having to enforce the rules.

My tribe tells me things that I sometimes don’t want to hear. They give words of advice that I didn’t even think about. They give me insights that are really helpful.

It’s difficult for me to put limits out there. There are tons of situations where I am having to put boundaries up. Even following through with the rules that I’ve set for the giveaways, tends to be difficult.

I wanted these giveaways to be fun and it certainly hasn’t been that way recently. I’m beyond frustrated and I’m not sure if I want to continue giveaways.

People get upset when they don’t win. People get upset when you enforce the giveaway rules. People unsupport you because they didn’t win.

Even during this frustrating situation my tribe has reassured me that sticking to the rules is the best thing to do.
