I’ve noticed a few things that have been changing since my hysterectomy surgery. I knew that my body would eventually catch up to these organs being gone.
A couple of things I’ve notice has been hot flashes and vision changes. It’s been about 4 months and 4 days since my surgery. I’m sure there’s more symptoms than what I’m dealing with.
However, I still would like to share these things with you. Maybe there’s someone out there that would like to know that they are not alone.
Hot Flashes
My goodness I’ve never felt my body feel so weird during a hot flash. Hot flashes are getting old. I’m not sure how long this “symptom” will last. Maybe it’s just one of those things that happen after a hysterectomy and there’s nothing I can do about it.
Hot flashes feel so weird though. The outside of my body can feel cold but the inside of my body feels extremely hot. I try to cool myself down but nothing works.
The hot flashes can happen between 5 to 8 times a day. I wake up constantly during the night because I wake myself up during a hot flash. I am obviously getting frustrated with the lack of sleep because of the hot flashes.
I have my appointment with my main doctor next month. Since I fired Doctor Mills OBGYN, I’m kind of stuck in the dark when it comes to where my body is at and if its normal.
You can only find so much information online that you would just prefer your doctors thoughts about it. I absolutely love my primary doctor and her team. So I’m good with whatever she would like to do.
Thankfully her team has helped me with advice and reassuring conversations.
Vision Changes
Vision changes have been something else that I’ve noticed a change in. It was pretty slow of a change unlike the sudden hot flashes that I’m experiencing.
I’ve always had vision problems. I’ve been wearing glasses since the age of 12. So vision changes isn’t too uncommon for me. However, I’m not even sure if this is a normal thing to happen after a hysterectomy.
Sometimes I feel so lost during these things that’s happening to my body. It’s pretty much a learn as I go type of thing.
What are the things you’ve noticed 4 months into your hysterectomy recovery time?
