MTHFR and Stress

Stress is something that will drain you especially if you have MTHFR gene mutation. When I’m stressed out I become more fatigued. Even if I take my vitamins I still feel the stress hit my body in a negative way. This is why eliminating stress is a big deal! Taking a step back from things that cause you stress is important. It’s important to take care of your body especially when you have a disease that is triggered by stress. Your body can’t deal with stress like normal people.

There have been situations where I have completely let go of. My parents is one of them and other family members. I’ve also stopped giving a damn about my “blended family” because it’s not going to work due to the biomom being a toxic individual. It was critical for me to let go of these situations that caused me to have high stress.

Here is a little bit of information about why stress is bad for MTHFR people. I found this information on a MTHFR Support Site

  • Stress – stress uses up many methyl groups so if there are not enough and we have a mutation that stops us creating them we are in trouble. If the stress response is using up the methyl groups then this shortage will affect other systems like the brain, thyroid function, fatigue etc. Sometimes the stress response gets turned on with methylation and there’s not enough methyls to turn it off again.

Your body cannot deal with stress. So it’s highly important to eliminate the stressful things in your life. Granted, you may not be able to get rid of all of the stress in your life because it’s not possible but you can step away from situations that causes high levels of stress. Do your body a favor and try to eliminate the stress in your life. Your body will thank you for it.
