What are your thoughts about monthly fee resources such as freepik and sites like that? I think it’s a good and bad idea. Here’s why and we will start with the good!
#1. It’s a great way for new designers to find graphics that they aren’t able to create yet. This is one of my struggles. I feel like I lack knowledge in some Adobe programs especially with Illustrator. I can do a few things in that program but I’m not as good with it as I am InDesign and Photoshop.
#2. It’s a great site for inspiration. I love seeing 4 sets of flowers or some other element being used in several different designs. I notice the creativity that is being used and it’s awesome.
#3. One time payment and you’re all set ready to go for commercial use elements.
#1 It’s all the same files over and over again. One of the Winrar files might not even match the file that you thought you downloaded.
#2. Why can’t this be a free service to fresh out of college people like me? I lack skills and that’s okay! It’s all about learning but goodness. I would like something useful for free after spending a lot of money on college.
#3. Someone else is using that design. So don’t think your design is unique because it’s not.
This is all of my list of good and bad reasons behind monthly fee resources. Let me know your thoughts about this! I’d love to hear from you!
